Mr. Miklja, you`ve just had a meeting with the swimming and water polo associations officials, was there any mention of swimming WC in Belgrade in 2013.

Exactly, we are resolved to host the WC 2013, having a good plan and exellent basis. Belgrade Arena is “ace from the sleave” in our candidacy. There still remains that we revitalize swimming pools so that Balgrade would promptly become the place where people could exercise water sports. That is the main purpose why we endavour to host the WC. If we succeed in it, then it is apparent that the pools must be prepared for such a competition. There will be no excuses for the City authorities if that job fails.

So, to conclude, Belgrade`s swimming pools require repairment not a make up.

Next year Belgrade would have an honour to organize an ATP tournament. “Family sport” Company owes tournament licence, ordains prizes and invites players. What could Belgrade do to help the tournament pass smoothly.

Despite Novak Djokovic`s press conference on 9th of december, we already know our duties. Since the courts on which the tournament would take place are on sport centre „Gale Muskatirovic”, the City can guarantee the best possible facilities that top tennis players deserve to have. There will be built montage platforms with eight thousand seats capacity.

Except obvious financial profits from the tournament, hosting of “Big shots” in Belgrade, what elese could the City expect of this engagement.

Rebound effects would be great, greater that even one could imagine. During May next year, many famous ATP names will be here. Leading wealthy managers will walk around. They all want to “live” the tales they heard about night life, culture, couisine, and all other things their business partners related them. That would be a terrific presentation of Belgrade that could not be paid or organized by some other way.

Belgrade will also host the Univerziade 2009. After all problem you1ve had, what is of the biggest importance today.

The priority is that the Univerziade holds. We need a maximum transparency in further efforts. There is no space for panic, because the revision of the budget was undertaken, so now everything flows in accordance with real aims and capabilities. The situation is that the amount of competitives is much more realistic than before. I`m convinced that such a massive competition would be organized on the highest level, and that all demands would be fulfilled.

When we are speaking so much about sports, do you find some time for recreation.

Well, of course… I play tennis, soccer, while I lack partners for basketball. I play tennis with Savo Milosevic, Zoran Mirkovic and Dragan Ciric, ex Partizan Belgrade football stars.
